<strong>EXPERIENCE</strong>
Worked with Victoria University of Wellington and Wellington Education Board Building Division as Research Fellow from 1979 to 1980, on developments and research on low energy cum solar heated school designs and various other energy use in Building Research. Prepared final report and contributed to various journals and conferences from this research. Also co- authored the book ‘Energy performance of Buildings’ published by CRC press, USA in 1984.

On returning to Malaysia in 1980, he worked in Ipoh, Perak on the design of medium-rise office buildings, apartments and holiday condominiums. In 1981 he joined the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia and was Project Architect and Resident Architect for the construction of the Tun Ismail Atomic Research Center in Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia which has Malaysia’s first Atomic Reactor at the focus of the building complex. This project gave valuable experience both in intricate services design and coordination and on-site experience.

On completion of the two year service in JKR in 1983, he joined the architectural firm, Akitek Angkasa and was put in charge of the 30-storey office-shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur, Sinar Kota owned by UDA. He was also involved in the firm’s other small projects including housing in Perak, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor.

In 1984 on completion of the tender documents for the Sinar Kota project, he left to join SAA Partnership (Malaysia) and was in charge of various high rise office, condominium and shopping center designs.

In 1985 he left SAA Partnership to form CSA Architects with Low M F and Wan Noordin as Associates. The Firm has since changed its name to Arkitek Daya Seni Sdn Bhd. He has been in charge of most of the major projects of the firm including Condominium Developments in Melaka. Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. He was also the Lead Consultant for the Federal Reserve Unit PDRM Headquarters Project completed in 2006

Wan Mohd Noordin Bin Wan Yahya

EXPERIENCE
During his student days in Manchester, he was involved extensively in Tropical Architecture studies and actively took part in the design and construction of experimental solar buildings. On graduation, he worked in Manchester, England.

On his return to Malaysia, he worked for two other architectural firms before Arkitek Daya Seni Sdn Bhd i.e. -SCV Akitek and C.H. Ong Akitek Berakan during which he gained valuable local experience. He joined Arkitek Daya Seni Sdn Bhd as an Associate in 1985 and became a Director in 1992 and has been the principal mover in formulating the design philosophies of the firm.

EXPERIENCE
Participated in various types of competition design during the academic period and evoked an inspiration that design is to give presence, it calls on the physical orders for approval so that the nature of spaces and their making are one.

1981-1983 joined C.H. Ong Akitek Berakan as an Assistant Architect in charge of design, supervision and contract management of the various type of bungalow, factories and housing schemes. The completed projects are as listed below:

– Bungalow at Genting Highlands owned by Tan Sri Haji Noor.
– Nippondenso Factory at Bangi
– Toshiba Factory extension at Banting
– Dipsol Factory at Banting.

1983-1985 In charge of management and chief of the design section involved in consultant coordination work on 12-storey shopping complex at Taman Putra for Desa Permai Sdn Bhd and low rise condominium for Happy Jaya Sdn Bhd at Old Klang Road.

Joined Arkitek Daya Seni Sdn Bhd in 1985 and has been involved in the planning and design of most of the major projects of the firm. During these years he has accumulated as very comprehensive knowledge in architecture field from architectural/project management to supervision on various types of residential, commercial, institutional and industrial project. In particular, he has very extensive practical site management experience for lowrise and highrise housing project.
